Boy Scouts of America.

On this date in 1910 the BSA was incorporated by publisher W. D. Boyce.

Boyce first learned about Scouting when a English Scout refused payment for helping him through the fog. He was simply doing a Good Turn. For 100 years, Scouts across America have kept to that example, doing Good Turns daily. This year, we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of this great movement and begin our next 100 years of service.

Brothers, the Lodge Executive Committee of the Wewanoma Lodge has been working hard to attain the status of Quality Lodge, currently the only requirement holding us back is the Membership. We need ALL Arrowmen to pay their dues ASAP. Dues must be collected by December 1, 2009 to allow time for processing and delivery of our Recharter Packet to the National Office by the deadline of December 31. If our packet does not make it to the national office by the 31st, we will automatically disqualify ourselves from attaining the Quality Lodge status. Again, ALL DUES MUST BE COLLECTED by DECEMBER 1. We have been working hard to attain the Quality Lodge Status DON'T HOLD US BACK!

Registration for the 2009 Pow Wow is now open. This event is an event for scouts of all ages! Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts are all invited to attend. This year there will be new additions to our traditional program. We will be hosting a Cub Scout Village, Webelos Village, and the traditional Indian Village. Any Arrowman interesting in serving your Lodge as Staff please contact your Chapter Advisor.

A Statement from our Lodge Chief

Brothers,
I am humbled to serve as your 2009 – 2010 Lodge Chief. Knowing that the Lodge has the confidence in me to lead them is truly inspirational. This year, with my Lodge Officers, we WILL achieve QUALITY LODGE. We are currently working on many projects to be able to achieve this goal, including Dues collection, the Annual Pow Wow, National One Day, Troop OA Rep Program, Elangomat Program and the Nimet Program. We will be creating the “Where To Go Camping” Publication

I am sorry that this publication of the Whitewing is late, but we were waiting on information from Section regarding Winter Leadership Encampment, and the National High Adventure Opportunities.

We are looking forward to many exciting events this year, leading you, and being a QUALITY LODGE
