Hello OA Brothers!
Japeechen will be holding it's monthly OA Chapter meeting on Sunday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m.
As usual, we will be meeting at Central Christian Church on Alton Gloor Blvd. in Brownsville.
The program portion of the meeting will be a Trail to Eagle Workshop put on by Council Advancement Chair and Vigil member T. Mark Blakemore.

He will be going over important information about the Leadership Workbook and Eagle application and answering all of your questions.
This workshop is open to any OA member in the council and any non-OA Scout who is Star or Life rank is also welcome to attend.
Registered Scout leaders are also welcome to attend.
(Because becoming an Eagle Scout is the Scout's responsibility, any questions from parents will only be taken following the workshop.)
Don't miss out on this opportunity...there is a lot of misinformation out there and this way you, the Scout, will get the latest and correct information firsthand. So, bring a notebook and pen. Also, be sure to wear your official uniform and, if you are a member, your OA sash.

Special thanks to Brotherhood member Cherie Camacho for instructing a Japeechen Chapter CPR/First Aid course on April 4.
We also have several from our chapter going to the Lone Star Fellowship at the end of this month. We hope to have as much fun as we did at Conclave last summer. See you there!!

Trash Pick-Up
Meeting Location: Laguna Atascosa Visitor's Center

The Japeechen OA Chapter will be doing a trash pick-up at Laguna Atascosa Wildlife Refuge.
OA Members will meet at the Visitor's Center at 9:00 a.m.
We recommend that you bring a water bottle and other heat protection (hat, sunscreen,etc.) and work gloves.
Unknown on the food so far, so bring snacks.

Attention Japeechen Chapter OA Members:
There was a resolution passed at the last chapter meeting (Sunday, March 30) to add Election of Chapter Officers to the agenda of the Chapter meeting scheduled the morning of Sunday, April 27 during the Fellowship Weekend. If passed, the item will be added to the meeting agenda and then we will be voting that day for new Chapter Officers: Chapter Chief, Vice-Chief of Ceremony, Vice-Chief of Service and Vice-Chief of Communication.

Please read the attached letter from the Lodge Advisor, Mr. David Enos. In it he suggests that you all reread the Purpose of the Order.

This is a wonderful weekend, and it has been on your OA calendar since last August. Please make every effort to attend and spend time with your fellow youth and adult OA members. Don't forget: you are a youth/voting member of the OA until the age of 21. If you're over 21, your youth membership becomes an adult membership. Both/Either of these are only true provided that you pay your annual OA dues and are registered in the BSA.
